He wasn’t expecting to see her, in that state and at that place. She was not okay. He managed to see through her traces of betrayal and shame lying under those undying marks of beauty that stimulated the fantastical imaginations when he first sight on her. The difference being the cover of that beauty on that day. It was all joyful and sparkling celebrating a little success.
She smiled that usual affectionate smile that penetrated the core of his soul where the epicenter of love can be found.
‘Why? What? I should not have done that. I should not have allowed myself to be let go of such beauty.’ It was love manifesting in retrospect. It was coming out wide, showing off clearly it’s footprints yet it had physically gone where human eyes cannot see.
He saw an expansive largesse of her womb and he realized someone had scored and could have probably won.
But she was not happy. He helped her look for transport while catching up with their runaway love without really disclosing it.
‘I see you growing big. Some man could have done better’ he started carelessly betraying his regret. Their previous love was characterized by a joyful carelessness that promised a revolution on lovers should relate had they’ve succeeded with it.
‘This is a mere consequence of a single act that was done in faithful carelessness.’ she responded with shame and regret. The boy, whom blinded by love she fooled herself into believing was a man had denied responsibility of the looming fatherhood with unimaginable energy and vitality. She was left alone to look after the baby while seeing through her studies.
Now they had met. They never promised each other marriage when love was still part of their common air. Love was enough and sufficient for them to think of the future and marriage……
Controversially, they agreed that he should have a feel of the lifeless life in her womb. When he caressed the baby’s fortress from the outside he felt it kicking and the mother twisted her body slightly. It seems the three were connecting through touch. The touch became a parting gesture of the looming family.
He made her promise him she will greet the baby for him every morning. How is she going to say it? Daddy says ‘Hi!’ ‘our true love says morning!’?
